Boston winter
January 23rd, 2007I landed in Boston yesterday afternoon. Today I had many meetings. At 8pm, at the end of the Semantic Web meeting at Stata, I went out and…. surprise… snow!!!
Yeah, this is the same old picture… but, as you can see the water is frozen and the snow covered the ice.
Washington DC
November 23rd, 2006Washington DC is an interesting city. The first impact was with Union Station that is a bit old and messy… but starting from the underground (or Metro as it is called there) the things change. The Metro is really well organized and well mantained. The city is in general really clean with a lot of impressive buildings (most of them are governative/administrative). The mall is a big green area sorrounded by incredible museums (all for free). The majority of them are grouped in the world’s largests museums complex called “Smithsonians“.
But the thing I noticed is that there are only a few people around… it is a sort of beautiful empty city.

November 2nd, 2006MIT Stata Center
November 1st, 2006The Stata Center is one of the most interesting building at the MIT (Massachusetts iInstitute of Technology). It is one of my favourite places to work too. The building is home to the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) and of World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). And there are some other new cool buildings around (The evolving MIT campus).
Autumn in Boston /2
October 30th, 2006Another small shooting session with David… going to the mall for lunch.
Autumn in Boston
October 29th, 2006Sometimes I go back home…
September 11th, 2006Yes, sometimes I go back to my hometown too… on the bottom of central Alps. In September, it is common to find groups of cows coming back from high mountains where they spent the entire summer in freedom.

Country Lights in September /2
September 7th, 2006September lights… post #2. It is really interesting to sit and look at the soft September lights kissing the hills. I’d like to find some time to take some pictures of the local river… in September it looks amazing.

September… grapes
September 4th, 2006September is the month of grapes… which in Italy often means wine. One of the most famous Italian wines is the well known Brunello di Montalcino which is also quite expensive (I think it is something about 40 euros a bottle). I usually prefer some less expensive but still really good wines like Bonarda (from Piemonte) and Gutturnio (from Colli Piacentini in the Emilia-Romagna region).
