New England Aquarium - Sharks
November 23rd, 2011Last weekend I finally got to visit the Aquarium. The sharks were looking pretty threatening and this is what you would see if you had to jump in the big tank for the cleaning operations. Shark teeth are embedded in the gums rather than directly affixed to the jaw, and are constantly replaced throughout life. Multiple rows of replacement teeth grow in a groove on the inside of the jaw and steadily move forward as in a “conveyor belt”; some sharks lose 30,000 or more teeth in their lifetime. The rate of tooth replacement varies from once every 8–10 days to several months.Wikipedia

July 1st, 2011Montezuma Castle National Monument, located near Camp Verde, Arizona, in the Southwestern United States, features well-preserved cliff-dwellings. They were built and used by the Pre-Columbian Sinagua people, northern cousins of the Hohokam, around 700 AD.
Pow Wow time is the Native American people’s way of meeting together, to join in dancing, singing, visiting, renewing old friendships and make new ones.

June 29th, 2011The red rocks of Sedona, Arizona
June 26th, 2011Sedona is famous for the red rocks formations. Weather is really warm and dry. Don’t forget to bring plenty of water with you. If you are looking for good food I would suggest Elote Cafe, great cuisine and nice atmosphere. It is a very popular place and it takes a while to get seated, keep that in mind.

December 28th, 2010St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands
December 24th, 2010It is always very nice to take a break from the cold Boston in December. St. Thomas, in the US Virgin Islands, is a good place to enjoy warm sun and oceans with crystal clear water. If you love snorkeling or being on a boat, you have to try out the Cool Boats. A trip on Silent Lady (or Bones) to Turtle Cove and Honeymoon Beach is going to lift the mood (click on the pics to jump to the complete album).
